80072733 problem by freedom on 11-03-2004 at 10:49 PM

after installing msn messenger 7.0 latst build 332 and msg plus newest beta, i was unable to sign in, it claimed that i have a problem with my internet connection.

I allowed it to connect to the net on ZoneAlarm security suite and i am connecting on the net. it is not the usual x008somethingsomethingsomething error that can be solved by deleting some values in the registry.

Does anyone know how to solve it? i'd really like to have the best of both worlds .:D

I do, don't use dodgy beta software. Messenger 7 beta has been blocked from connecting to the Messenger servers, to the best of my knowledge.

NOT true. Build 205 was blocked only because of the flaws in Winks, but build 225 and 332 is not blocked. I use build 332 and i cant login, but i allso cant login using Web Messenger, E-messenger, MSN Messenger ver. 5 and 6, so it has nothing to do with Messenger 7
RE: msn messenger login failiure (error 81000370 or others) by yyowl on 11-04-2004 at 10:43 PM

:(yeah i have the same problem as do (apparently) quite a few other people. I and several friends have been using msn messenger 6.2 for quite some time now and never had any problems, now we have downloaded and installed messenger plus 3 virtually all of our messengers have refused to work, strongly suggesting that the problem lies with plus 3 as it would be a bit of a coincidence for us all to download and use messenge pus 3 at roughly the same time (7 people within two days) and all (7 people) have exactly the same problem and it not be to do with plus 3!!!! its a pity cos i really liked the program while i had it but now i am in the process of removing all messenger services and reloading just messenger. there is another post somewhere suggesting the use of a server selector, which seems to work for some people, (post came from sunshine) but it doesnt work for all. If there is a patch to solve this problem i would be greatful if somebody would tell me about it, as far as i can see this isnt even a recognised official problem with messenger plus dispite the fact that so many people seem to be reporting the same problem with the same error message in connection with using messenger plus.

so... you suggesting that msg plus is the one that caused it?

Don't think messenger plus would cause it *-)

RE: 80072733 problem by freedom on 11-04-2004 at 11:09 PM

i've tried uninstalling messenger plus. it still comes out with the same problem so obviously there's something wrong with msn messenger 7. i could sign in to Windows messenger and Web messenger. I tried changing servers with the suggestion from sunshine on another post and well... still doesn't work. i think we'll have to wait until someone finds out the root of the problem. but until then msn messenger is the only way of a person contacting me.. i.e. i can't live without it :D

Then don't use an un-released, un-supported and not official Beta of MSN Messenger. Revert back to a stable build like MSN Messenger 6.2 (click}. MSN Messenger 7 is meant for testing purposes only, not the general user.

@ A. Madsen: I've PM'ed you regarding your inability to use any of the MSN services. Please reply as I wish to help you solve your problem.

As Evil Said, Revert back to MSN Messenger6.2 or use Windows Messenger
