Extensions: If your favorite extensions are broken because of the version change, supernova_00 figured out a way to get them working again:

Open /%appdata%/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/randomname/extensions/Extensions.rdf.
Change all instances of maxVersion="0.10" to maxVersion="1.0".

bach_M....that made no difference to RC2, i can live without extensions for 2 days till final :D

RE: Firefox by tomfletcherman on 11-07-2004 at 07:27 PM

I went to the extensions website, and pressing install does nothing, however I can downlaod the files but do not know where to put them. How do you install the extensions, I'm using ff 0.9.3

RE: Firefox by ddunk on 11-07-2004 at 07:32 PM

Save them to where ever, open the Extensions window in firefox and Drag and Drop the file to the window.

RE: Firefox by tomfletcherman on 11-07-2004 at 07:54 PM

I did that with ad block, and it didn't show up afterwards.

RE: Firefox by EvilSeph on 11-07-2004 at 08:24 PM

To fix the non-supported-ness of Firefox extensions for RC1/2 do the following (or for any version really):

1. Open up firefox :p.

2. Type About:Config in the address bar.

3. Find the preference name "app.extensions.version" and change it to a lower version number, eg. 0.10

4. Restart Firefox and the extensions should install now.

RE: Firefox by tomfletcherman on 11-07-2004 at 08:26 PM

Thanks for that suggestion, but I found that all I had to do was to allow websites to install programs.

tom

RE: Firefox by EvilSeph on 11-07-2004 at 08:34 PM

Hmm no, my suggestion was to the people wanting to use old versions of extensions with RC1/RC2 :P

RE: Firefox by aNILEator on 11-07-2004 at 08:51 PM

I'm just gonna wait a week then press the lovely blue button in the top right hand side of firefox that says UPDATE :D

Firefox 1.0 by auhsor on 11-10-2004 at 03:03 AM

Just thought I would bump this to announce that Firefox 1.0 is out. Well thats in case you didnt realise, but I'm sure most people would have already known.

You will probably have trouble downloading extentions and themse, as the mozilla servers are very busy. The homepage seems to be faster now, so you can downlaod the new version, although the updates icon doesn't seem to work well atm with all the traffic.

You can get it here:

Is it true that Mozilla payed 55 thousand dollars for an advertisement of Firefox in the new york times or something along those lines?
