Games not working by DABURA on 11-16-2004 at 04:10 PM

Hai there I already searched the forums but didn't find an answer.

Well I would like to play games with my contacts, but i can;t get them to work.
I had msn 7 installed but deleted it. But now in messenger 6.2 i can;t play games with my contacts. I've tried reinstalling, but this doesn't work.

I can invite someone, and they can accept but then i get the message saying:
"messenger can;t start minesweeper"
(this also comes up when i get invited, and also with other games)

Maybe one of you knows an answer to my problem?

Are you using the Mess.be Game Patch?

By deleting MSN 7 i hope you mean uninstall as it should be uninstalled..that includes a reboot before you install MSN 6.2 again to make sure all traces are gone.

If you got an OS in wich you got systemrestore, you can try restore it to when you got MSN 6.2 working before (before installing MSN 7).

If not i suggest uninstalling MSN completely, including the folder  C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\MSN Messenger if this isn't deleted on uninstall (check after you rebooted). Once you've done that reboot again and reinstall MSN 6.2.

Yes I ment uninstalling instead of deleting.

And i already tried to delete everything including the folder you mentioned. and reinstalling messenger.

And no, i am not using the mess.be game patch. The only program i use a long messenger is msgplus. (version 3.25.106)

I just found this:
Having problems with the games and other launch site applications in MSN Messenger? Try this:

1) Click your nickname and select Personal Settings.

2) Click the Privacy tab.

3) Now uncheck the option 'Always ask me for my password when checking Hotmail or opening other .NET Passport-enabled web pages'.

Maybe someone could use it!!
