Messenger Exploit? by Maniac on 11-18-2004 at 10:38 PM

A weird wacky friend of mine found something on the net and i just wanna get more info on it.

he gave me the following link:
*link removed*

now by my (minor?) experience i would say that it's an old exploit that used to work on WINDOWS messenger only and that now doesn't work anymore.... but you see.... he's asking me to compile the code cause he doesn't have visual studio.... but my angelic ethical side of me tells me not to if it could cause harm....

any of you know anything about this?

As far as I can tell, the exploit only affects Windows'  Messenger SERVICE, the service that allows people/spammers to send ads to your computer. Which is by default, disabled on computers running SP2. I also believe this hole has been patched, but I'm not too sure.
