It is not possible... unless the next plus version alows something like this or the next MSN (probably not 7 as it is not currently in the BETA version!)

Edit : Maybe a plus plug-in could.

how does the unlimited contact list feature work? i think it would be a nice addon for msn itself to run in the tray or something if it works by a proxy and what would happen if u added more then 150 people to your list and then stoped useing messenger discovery?

Messenger discovery doesn't work with a proxy (it acts as a proxy)

It works for me, and i live in the UK. I think i heard that the problem was with NTL

As I say to most people having the issue; complain to your ISP. I can't do anything .

If you get a 404 error you can try dumping your TCP/IP Stack and restarting the computer.

Start > run > cmd

netsh dump

so is messenger discovery the only way to allow for more contacts?

i dont want to use a program like trillian as the workaround if there is a way to do it through msn messenger or msn plus...

There is no way to add more than 150 contacts to your contact list by just using the normal MSN Messenger and Messenger Plus!. You will always need a third-party addon such as Messenger Discovery, or make more than one account.
