Editing Reputation Comment by Dempsey on 11-27-2004 at 12:09 AM

Once you've posted a reputation, is there a way to edit the comment?

Also is there a way to see all the reputations a certain user has posted?

Simply click the Vote button again to edit your previous vote.

There's currently no way to see all reputations made by a specific member.

And there will not be a way. I feel that it's somewhat of an invasion of privacy if you can see every vote I've ever given on one page. You don't need to have that information unless you're a staff member trying to determine if someone is abusing the system.

well i meant to say all the reputations you have given other people, so you can see theme all on one page.  As you wrote them anyway, it wont be an anvasion of privacy

To be honest I can't really see why it would be an invasion of privacy, we can view all of the reputations given anyway to be honest, why not just have it on one page rather than having to click every name on the list to view what that user has written. Plus, as you said, the staff could use it aswell :).

I think it is an invasion of privacy, sorta, here is a rather bad analogy

In the UK you are allowed to match a name to a phone number, but not a number to a name, because it is an invasion of pivacy. People could say it is not an invasion of privacy because you the information is all there and publicly available, all you are doing is using it in a different way. But it is still considered invasion of privacy.

Exactly. It depends not on what information is available, but how it's made available, and how people are allowed to use and access it.

In this case, you might not know that I gave a reputation vote to Test_User, who is a personal friend of mine. If there was a list of every vote I've given, you would know. Without the list, you would have to actually view Test_User's profile, and you may have never heard of him. :p

Every member can receive a reputation. This reputation is visible next to posts and in the member's profile. A reputation can indicate how well liked/not liked a member is.

Votes can be cast by going to the profile of the member you wish to give a reputation, and then clicking Vote (or clicking Details and then Vote). Every member with 100 posts or more can hand out one reputation point (+1, 0 or -1) and elite members and forum staff can hand out two points (+2, +1, 0, -1, -2).

I understand what Dempsey means here and imo that might be handy incase you wanna alter a rep later on (also to remind yourself who you rated already). This should however, if its done, be done in the user cp so that nobody else but yourself can view it.
