My current project is a Messenger Plus! skin for Windows :banana:
I want to know what you guys think of these early images, and if anyone has any problem with me calling it the plus! Skin. :banana: (The image is kind of big bcz this is my canvas for plotting out images for various things within windows.):

Looks like a good skin...I wouldn't see a problem with you calling it the Plus! Skin...but if leejeffery is making one...might wanna check with him:)

Hate to crash the party guys but, do you have permission to use Messenger Plus!'s logo/images? If so, cease development immediately until and IF you get permission.

Unless its publicly released, or if he states that he isn't affiliated with msgplus.net and made it out of his own free will afaik, I see no problems, its quite a good looking theme, shame I don't have windows blinds though, resource waster ;) ;)

Actually, I must state that all images are copyright so and so and things like that, then I can release it. Don't worry though, I'll get permission anyways ;)

Nope, copyright notices aren't enough. You need explicit permission from Guido or Patchou to use Plus!'s images.

Don't state things as if they are fact if you don't know for sure.

Looks good. Maybe after you finish this some cursors would be in order? I always like it when people make a suite, instead of just a theme for one program. Good old Christmas Time, just need to make/find a Winamp skin for it.

I hate skinned cursors  TBH :P I'll make matching icons, and a log-on screen, but that's all :P

I really like the skin its nice and simple and looks good.
I do think you should change to colour of the system tray so its different from the rest of the taskbar.
Its a shame about Winblinds and its resource munching :dodgy:

What's the difference? Other than the fact that I changed the tray expand/collapse image, and that the topbar buttons haven't yet been put into the skin, it's the same...

I'm sorry, but I can't really see what's so Plusy in it apart from the cropped logos.
To be good it should match most of MP! Preferences GUI's, And the titlebar should have some detailed gfx, like the water-effect-like background. It's difficult to do, because it can't get stretched, but it would be interesting on one of the edges. The taskbar should also have MP! details, like a shaded MP! logo or other things...

Just my few suggestions, let me know if you want some more ;)

Well it will come in all the plus! colours :P
I'm going to work on inserting the plus! logo into more often, but first I just want to get the basic design completed.

Note: I finished RC1 Rev1 and am testing it right now. It looks good :) (y).

I mean thet tha titlebar should match the header of the MP! dialogs so that both theme and MP! look better than any other theme. Hope you get me.

Anyway, I can change the colors in the appearence of the basic theme and it would be better that the theme was a bit more complex with more complex graphics in the style of MP!

Mind the form styling, too, take the label-art and the buttons from the preferences.

Anyways, Keystorm, imo the colours go well with the Plus! panel, and I don't want ot make the theme too complex. I added a few cool things (like a new profile icon panel) but I want to keep it a fairly simple and easy to look at skin.

Let me make another suggestion yet: Use the "Local settings", "Sound settings" and "Miscelaneous"-alike bottons as the buttons of the style. That will make it look better (Y)

plus is a good plugin, but tbh, i dont like it enough to wanna plaster its logo all over windows :P i prefer my pretty themed desktop, and the silver XP theme!

and whats diff from the normal XP theme apart from the background? :/ might aswell just release the background/wallpaper ;p cos i cant see anything else different

The entire thing is re-done :-/ I didn't make the wallpaper btw.

I made the start button logo a windows logo in plus! colours, that's all I'll do -  it looks tacky with a plus logo there.

ok so the  taskbar thing is a bit different in that it has a shiney effect, and the start bar is all blurred n not green.... but apart from that...... no :P

I dnt think it shud explicitly be called the messenger plus theme, both themes have good features that would be great themes if released on a website. However, tbh, not many people would use it if it had loads of messenger plus! logos everywhere, you could say "inspired by Messenger Plus!"

The plus! logo is in the start menu, all folder windows and the plus! logo colours are used for the ext, min, max buttons, along with the skin's blue colour (in RC3 it will come in all plus! colours)...

No I didn't, they are the exact same size as the classic and XP style taskbars/topbars.

Are you a midget or something?? They are normal size, except I think that they may have a bigger resolution or something, i'm not sure. No offence or anything lee, but yours is a little too plain and flat, a bit tacky really to be honest, i prefer blades, I just wish it was for StyleXP thats all..

That'll mean install all the StyleXP suite crap fuckin warez all the way, but whatever. I'll just need 24 hours. :grin:

I like leejeffery's smoothness and I like blade's colors (well, just some of them, tbh). I'll see what I can do to help that... :^)

While I think it's more of a clone of Royale instead of a Messenger Plus! theme, if Patchou gives you permission then you get my permission as well (as long as you clarify it's not an official theme and that it's not related with Patchou or GFDD) in this case. Keep it up (Y).

And lee, while much more original, your theme is too plain compared to Plus' graphical style IMO.

I wish there was a way you could make it into a windows visual style file for people who have a patched uxtheme.dll (people who dont want an extra prog loading just for themes :P) ;)

Ya but i think that the style xp themes are easier plus i noticed that windows blinds (atleast the old version) uses a lot of system memory and slows down my pc. So i prefer style xp !!

blade's theme looks tons like Windows XP Media Center Edition.
It's pretty good though
