I was wondering if it was possible to get someones IP address via a plugin. You see I have a games clan and we chat on MSN and it would be great to just see their IP next to their name or someway of finding their IP without asking so if they start a game we know where to join.

This would be an invasion of privacy, and therefor it won't be done. If you wan't their IP ask em to type (!IP)

and as for your problem....


At present no there is no plug-in  that will support such a feature and i dont think it will also exist in the near future as given out ones ip is a very risky thing to do and i trying to gain someones ip without their knowledge is a breach of privacy which is not supported here ....

so the answer is no all you can do is if the person wants to share his ip address with someone and has messenger plus installed type (!ip) in the chat window where you want it to be displayed and you will get the ip address 

some OrkBlutt (i think that was his name) character made a plugin to get their IP but the other user had to have the plugin aswell. which i spose makes the plugin useless. But i do remember the was a program that could get the IP of someone. it sent a file first thenit canceled straight away and it would use like netstat -n or something in cmd prompt and search for a new Connection Request or something. maybe look it up on google

I think i saw a program named MSN sniffer...it found the ip for ur contacts

I didn't know there was an (!ip) command, thanks, i'll tell the clan to get Messenger Plus.

Heh main problem was someone was going to host, but the idiot gave us his LAN ip very confusing and muddled up time we had.

i'v noticed that after i posted, and then i forgot to change that

well send a file to your contact you want the IP from,
when they accept click the start menu and click on run
type cmd.exe so your command prompt comes up.

type netstat -n and it will show you the contacts IP along with yours, if you dont know how to distinguish which IP is which then i suggest you dont even try this.
