^ Yeh, I think It's because of the javascripts they use. Probaly too many slows the page down (msn.com) not the beta.

Looks nice. They started with this kinda of theme for the Beta MSN Search.

I agree it's too plain, but this minimalistic style is much clearer and easier on the eye. It's the new trend 
The only think I don't like is the plain blue-purple background of the top logo banner... if it was like in http://beta.search.msn.com/ I would be happy with the whole design

looks so basic.... but i never go to msn.com unless i try to sign out of hotmail, and it directs me there, so i have to go back to hotmail to sign in with another account.... /me hates that damn page

I don't like it at all i prefer the old one
its much more colorful and has life this one just looks dead

though i must agree i love how they are starting to use valid html in their pages, the old one is clearly much better designed.
