Does anyone no what this means. I keep trying to install msn and this keeps coming up.

If you are using AdWatch, turn that off before installing. If not see if this works:

Start > Run
type: regsvr32 softpub.dll
click OK

thats just 2 links, try n see if the solutions work....
and remember, google is your FRIEND.... i just searched "0xblahblah MSN" and found quite a bit (not all of it relevant), im sure if you typed in more, youd get a more accurate result

hi Sunshine could i have your msn address so u could lead me all you have to do cause i dont no much about computers. So i dont really no what everyone is going on about on here.

AdWatch is a part of Adaware SE, see if you got that running (there should be an icon in the systray....besides the clock)...if so close it. Then try install MSN messenger again. I that doesnt work follow the steps i described in my previous post

I really can't explain more clearly, give it a try..if you truly can't work it out pm me and i'll see what i can do

It most likely is AdWatch..if the above does not work you could try doing the following aswell:
1) Click Start > Run
2) Type: msiexec /unreg <enter> and wait until it appears to have finished.
3) Go back to Start > Run
4) Type: msiexec /regserver <enter>.
5) Try to install MSN Messenger 6.2 again

still no luck has anyone else got any ideas. by the way this is happening both on 6.2 and 7.

Why dont you try this:

uninstall msn messenger.....reboot.....download msn messenger (even if you have a setup file download a new one).... and then install msn messenger ...should work

if this doesnt work just follow the same process in safe mode

I havent got adaware. what shall i try now?

Uninstall MSN messenger an then  Reboot, then log back into windows then go to C:/Program Files/MSN Messenger <--  an delete the MSN Messenger Folder ,,,, once thats done excape out of windows Explorer an download MSN Messenger again an reinstall it

still dont work. Any more ideas?

try clicking on that Blue URL thingie an it'll take you there ,, you may have to signin using your Hotmail address or other passport to post a message though ,, but remember to bookmark it in your Internet Explorer or whatever browser you use Favorites

ok i seen that exact error heaps of times, there aint nothing you can really do ,,but to Report the exact error to Microsoft , i believe though some people from  http:/mess.be/ forums have reported the same error. an fixed it,

   Has Nothing to do with Ad-Ware being on your computer or Adwatch , its a common MSN Messenger 7 BUG , if you go over to http:/mess.be/ forumns check those out , you may find a work around

all the stuff they say on there is just the same as people say on here.

    well all you can do is Report the issue to Microsoft, as its there Software an they have put he Bug in it,  but im sure many other people have reported the issue to, so yours isnt the only one to be reported


   But if you get your fater or mother to Go into Registry of windows by going into START > RUN  > an type REGEDIT an Hit ENTER an go ino the Reg Keys to find the MSNMESSENGER Key an delete it, but uninstall Messenger first, but i dont suggest doing that if you dont know what your doing, Do you have a friend that can do it for you?

yep it is, , Now have a go an reinstalling 6.2 or 7 depending what 1 you want

ive said it before, and ill say it again... its a beta, if you dont want things going wrong, get msn6.2 again, else live with it cos its gonna keep happening till the official non Beta version is out

yeah when i try to install 6.2 the same happens with that aswell.

Do you logged the proper priviledges to the computer? At school this happens to us, where our accounts have many limitations applied.

Still dosent work after 2 months i have been using windows messenger the last 2 months. Has anyone else got any ideas what could be the problem. This has all happened since i installed msn 7.

Take it know one knows the problem. Someone on here must of had the same problem.
