look in help in your gmail account. and then go to "setting up POP3 email". quite simple

Gmail requires ssl to connect to its pop3 accounts
Plus currently doesnt support ssl but patchou has coded this support and it will be in the next release

No, you cannot check GMail with version 3.25. In the next version you will be able to.

I dont think you can get windows live messenger for windows 98. I have seen some microsoft press releases and they are saying june this year microsoft are cutting support and other things for windows 98 and ME. And they are advising that people with windows 98 or ME to upgrade becuase those systems are out of date.

Windows Live Messenger only supports Windows XP based systems* and above.

*By Windows XP based systems I mean, Windows Media Center 2005 and Windows Server 2003 (of which I believe uses the XP core? But don't rely on that.

Despite of whats said by persons above you can check Gmail with Plus! 3.63..it is possible since version 3.50 (if i'm not mistaken). Just make sure you tick "this server requires an encrypted.." under login and password box.

More info on how to set up pop3 can be found here, for more info about Plus! and Gmail in specific have a look at MsgPlus! Pop3 Gmail Limitations.

Edit: Thanks Mike, i forgot to post about that bit...:D
RE: Gmail - Messenger Plus! by Mike on 04-15-2006 at 12:10 PM

Also, you need to enable POP3 from Gmail's configuration ;)

RE: Gmail - Messenger Plus! by tonmai2k on 04-15-2006 at 01:01 PM

msgplus not support SSL under Windows 98.
So you can't check GMail by msgplus if you use Win 98.

But you can check your GMail by Email Client (such as Outlook Express) instead.

:)
