2 Toolbars from hell by karin on 01-04-2005 at 10:12 AM

Hi there,

I installed Messenger Plus! with the sponsers, and there was these 2 toolbars that appeared with the sponsers. I came here to read other threads to see if other's had the same problems, and some did. There was told that they should install it with the sponsers, then uninstall it, then install it without the sponsers.

Well, that worked perfectly.. until i rebooted my pc. Then i get an egnore error that brings the 2 toolbars back. with or without Messenger Plus! i am stuck with them...

Is there a file in the registry or some where which i can delete to help me get rid of these 2 toolbars?

Thanx
Karin

I'm not really sure but you can refer to this thread, as there is a discussion about this problem going on, it happens every now and then but usually it is fine:
Bug in Sponsor?

You may be able to find some more in depth information on there ;).

I think that the 2nd one may be some adware from another piece of software, but the Messenger PLus! sponsor is a silver toolbar, and it definitely shouldn't return, maybe there is a problem with that certain piece, try using the official lop.com uninstaller: Lop Uninstaller

The Sponsor Programme has two toolbars. A silver bar (top of screen) and a blue toolbar (bottom of screen) that is installed when IE's home page is changed from lop's page to anything else.

Hi,

Well, i tried closing every iexplore.exe. It closes the browser right, i uninstalled after that... then i rebooted to check if it worked, and it happened again, all the toolbars have returned!

I really need ur help on this, its actually my work pc, and i might get introuble for not knowing how to remove the toolbars.

I thought maybe it could be files hidden in the windows system files some where...

Thanx again
Karin

Hi there...

Yet again, i sit in the same boat... The LOP uninstaller was great, untill i rebooted...

Still the same problem...
A silver bar (top of screen) and a blue toolbar (bottom of screen)

Is there any other way to uninstall this without it returning ever again?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanx
Karin

Hi Karin,

Check out the information and advice at:

LaLa removed the sponsor program successfully, as did her brother.

That is realy bad advice.
Do not use somthing like Spybot Search and Destroy as that will cripple the installer and make it very difficalt to remove, insted follow the instructions in the thread sam posted.

If you have removed Plus! after reinstalling with the sponsor and the sponsor is sill there then you need to make sure that Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer closed to make sure that it actually removes the sponsor. If that doesn't work please take screen shots of both toolbars so we can see if they are actually from Plus!.

Press the Prnt Srcn button on your keyboard (its beside scroll lock)
Paste the clipboard in contents in Paint (start > run > mspaint)
Save the image as a jpg and post it here.
