First of all sorry about the short notice.

Today, within about 10 hours of posting this announcement we will begin moving the Messenger Plus! forums to their new home on http://shoutbox.menthix.net

The move involves backing up the current database and files, and moving them to the new server. There is over 300mb of data to move so it could possibly take a while to complete and get things settled.

Before we begin we will disable these forums here as to not allow people to post whilst moving the database (so we dont end up with two different databases).

After the move is completed http://shoutbox.menthix.net will be redirected to the new server, along with any requested pages - so links placed elsewhere aren't broken.

At the moment some of you may not be able to access the site because of the recent updates to the DNS. Over time your ISP will resolve the new DNS (Usually within 24 hours) and you will be able to access the forums again.

The new server is of a higher specification than the current server here and due to the configuration changes i've made it idles on about 80mb of RAM, meaning there is a lot more for access by the forums. The new forums should hopefully see the end of the server load page, except for those occassions when Patchou posts something special.

I would also like to give a big thank you to Wj for providing the current hosting of the forums free of charge. Considering the amount of bandwidth usage and CPU time this place takes up, and the numerous hours of his personal time he has put in he deserves a big thank you. (Now finally his clients might have a server which runs at a normal load )
