Was Patchou's choice of domain.

He wants to put some sort of entrance page on it but as he is not here at the moment and we wanted to get the forums done we pulled them straight across.

Personally I think the entrance page might make it a bit of a pain in the rear end to access the forums..

Me too... there might be ways of making it less of a pain though. Like making sure it's only shown once (set a cookie) or only shown when you're not logged in, or something like that...

2.8ghz P4, 80gb Hd, Some sort of ram (It's showing as having 912,000Mb so it's a little odd for a server), and Three Gigabit nics. We transfered the DB's at 2.2MB/sec. It was nice.

I dunno why but just like "Matty" its showing i can't post threads. Whats the prob guyz ?? And good work in getting the new domain name (Y) but this (i dunno why), along with all other sites is a bit slower in loading as compared to usual. Well thats a problem here so never mind. Can't we do something so when you type http://shoutbox.menthix.net the URL will stay in the address bar (like dot.tk domains :P)

That would require frames. Frames are stupidsilly. As the servers are totally different then we can't do that.

I've yet to do further tweaking on the server, so hopefully we can get a bit more out of it.

Andrey, I've just sorted it out, it was because of the hotlink protection on images, and msgplus.net wasn't on the list, now it is, so you should be able to see my avatar just fine ;).

I'm not actually sure, The bandwidth monitoring utilites just took a crap when I put msgplus on it's own IP to help combat DDOS attacks.

Estimate, It was using 90 gigis about a year ago, I would guess either arround 150 based on our growth.

If it was just a redirect, it wouldn't really be a new way to access the forums. He'd still need access to msghelp.net.

I just analyzed the access log, and found that on our first day on the new server, we wasted 5.2 GB of bandwidth! :banana:

30375 visits, average 21099 hits per hour.

The top bandwidth wasters (in order) were msnbot.msn.com, Tochjo, AndreY, WDZ, and paperless.

I love stats. :refuck:

what if someone clicks on a link from an old topic, that is like shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=696969, will it change it to msghelp.net/showthread.php?tid=696969 or just make a 404 error?
