Spaces command by scottisafool on 01-05-2005 at 06:23 PM

Just another idea using some of the new functionality with msn7. How about a spaces command, for both your own space and your contacts' space. So when in a conversation, you could type /myspace or something and it would take you to your space and something similar for your contact. Easier than having to do it through the contact list. Any thoughts?

I like the idea but I am not sure if it can be done or not because unlike the User Profiles, Spaces doesn't use the email address of the person at the end (http://members.msn.com/johndoe@hotmail.com) so Plus! would have to figure out the actual URL to the space for that to happen... not sure if he can.

Surely it would essentially just be taking the link that appears in the contact card. admittedly, the link cannot be viewed as a url, but i guess it's something to ponder... :)

What I was refering to when I typed this: http://members.msn.com/johndoe@hotmail.com was profiles are different then the spaces. Profiles use the email address and spaces don't. tbh I don't think Patch will add this but we will see.

You could do it like this as a Quick Text:

/run "http://spaces.msn.com/members/yourspacename"
and set the command as /myspace

For the other contact you could do it like this:

/run "http://spaces.msn.com/members/(!P)"
and set the command as /contactspace and ask them for their space name which you would just write behind the command.

Anyway, that's just my two cents :)
