Email notification problem by Choli on 01-07-2005 at 10:08 PM

Hi,

since the forums got moved, I no longer receive notifications emails (those that say that there has been a new reply bla bla bla...). I though some configuration on my profile was messed because I was subscribed to A&N (and 2 forums more) and that subscription was lost.

I went to Change email in the UserCP and re-entered my email, but I haven't received the confirmation email either. Is this a known problem? What happens/happened?

Thanks :P

When changing your email address in this version of MyBB it doesn't send out a confirmation email.

I'm receiving other emails from this board fine, however they're all on one line - which I intend to look in to later on today.

I also can't recieve e-mails to my main account, but I can to my GMail account... :s

I wasn't able to confirm surfi's problem with the missing line breaks... they work fine for me (at least when viewed in GMail).

I'll look into it some more... :dodgy:

Surfi, can you configure the mailer to send a valid Return-Path header? It's currently nobody@srv06, and srv06 isn't a valid domain name. I tried setting the header with PHP, but it gets overridden.

Hrmph. Maybe it's time for me to reconfigure postfix or install another MTA..

The line breaks happen to me in Outlook 2003.

When I get home from work i'll look in to it again :dodgy:

Okay, return-path has been set now, give it a go ;)

That did the job... I can now receive mails from the forum on my SoftHome account. (y)

With SPF being implemented, and the general war against spam, it doesn't surprise me that mail servers would reject messages with invalid Return-Paths...

Edit: I just checked my pop3 mail with Outlook Express, and I still saw line breaks. :refuck:

I've received one email, and all seems correct. Thank you guys.

About the blanck lines in Outlook (express or not): check the config or the program. It sometimes adds or remove blanck lines in plain text messages in order to show them better (what rarely acomplishes :refuck:)

By the way, new lines in emails are fixed for me now. It was something to do with postfix. Lastnight I removed postfix and installed sendmail instead and now it is all working as it should be :D
