Good Laptop for ~ $1000-1300? by Maniac on 01-10-2005 at 09:10 PM

Hiyo!

My brother is  thinking of buying a new laptop (the one he had just went berserk) but we're hesitation between too many options

I'm not sure where to look exactly... which is my major problem

He's not too big of a gamer but would need a pretty powerful computer. The uses would be basically anything you do as a university student plus some gaming...

I was aiming at finding one in the $1000-$1300  price range... but so far all I find is $2500+ (websites seem to advertise their newest products too much *sigh*)

Anyways, can anyone guide me to a specific brand or somehow ease my search, i'd be very grateful :)

Wouldn't an alienware computer be too gaming-directed?
