Internet problem by Elessar on 01-21-2005 at 01:05 PM

Hi. I am asking this question for a friend of mine who is having trouble logging into forums and other registered websites. (e.g. MsgPlus Forums, Neopets.) Often it says that he is logged in... but he is not and therefore can't access the features on registered websites.
This problem ocurred after he delted his cookies. Could this perhaps be the cause of this problem? And how could he fix this problem to allow him to log into registered sites? Any helpful information would be appericated.:)

Hello.

You might want to tell him to delete his cookies again and his temporary internet files (cache).

By the way, what webbrowser does he use?

My friend uses Crazy Browser and IE Explorer. He has delted the cookies manually, and has also delted his temp internet files. He has delted the cookies many times, but the problem still remains. Any ideas as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hmmm...
Actually, I dont think deleting cookies manually is a good thing...
Can you tell him to open IE, and then go to Tools.
Then tell him to click "Delete Cookies" and then "Delete Files".
If it still doesn't work, then tell him to try to use another webbrowser like Mozilla Firefox

Go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

And delete everything in that folder "Temporary Internet Files"

Make sure you have show hidden folders on.

Username = Replace with the username you are currently logged into windows with.

Also you can yous a free program called CCleaner to clean: Temporary files, URL history, cookies, index.dat.
