Hide Window Frame by f1d0d1d08989 on 01-30-2005 at 08:26 AM

A guy came into the IRC and had a problem with the Hide Window Frame feature.

He said that the button was missing only for his account, but not for other accounts...
He tried reinstalling, and everything that he knew...

Any ideas to solve the problem?

hmmm never heard of buttons missing before. Ask him if he has a special skin :S

RE: Hide Window Frame by Eljay on 01-30-2005 at 08:41 AM

well i know this is probably obvious but it only shows on small windows (i.e not maximised) so if he has his IM windows maximised it obviously wont be there

hope this helps..

Nope he doesnt have any skin installed, so its not a problem with his skin.

Furthermore, it only affects his account; when other people signs in on his PC, it doesnt have this problem...

EDIT: Yeah he knows that it is only available when the window is not maximised...

Does CTRL+M show the border?

Which version of Windows are you running? If you click in the area where the button would be what happens?

Ok! now I got my account and my registration problem are out, I can reply !

So I had exactly the same problem as this poor guy and it's quite frustrating... but I found the solution:
it sounds crazy but it's "accesibility" related !
go to the control panel -> accesibility options -> sounds
and uncheck "use Sound sentry" (or any accessibility options maybe)

that should do the trick ;)

ps: sorry that I didn't reply sooner

I have Msn 7.5 right now, but the problem was on 6.2, 7.0 and 7.5 it has never fixed.

And the accesibilty option didn't work :s
