yes a wireless one, if it might be intercepting and im not pressing the buttons

well u can try that..i think it works
close windows media player and then after or before put the keyboard somewhere so the connection wud be lost between receiver and keyboard....or windows media player just loves ya

If you can edit the key maping. Disable the media key and see if your problem persists.
Thats what i had to do with my keyboard when the messenger key did exactly what yours is doing.

My suggestion you may want to try to remove MP totally and try reinstalling it before you try to above advice by others

So you want him to do the hardest thing before the easiest?
To bring a wireless keyboard out of range you just movie it away from the reciever.
To change a media key you just go to Control Panel (in classic view) > keyboard.
