What is this update about? do i really need it? will it affect stuff plug please help

These update has been enforced because of the vulnerability found in display pictures and emoticons that could allow some one to run commands on you machine. Thus beeing a major scurity threat.
Because there only has been a slight update to fix this flaw most if not all add ons for messenger 6.2 should still work.
