RE: Signing in to .NET Messenger Service Failed... by Gipper on 02-16-2005 at 01:23 PM

Hi guys

Network adminstrator at my office has blocked connection of MSN Messenger. All the internet traffic goes through Proxy-server and we have also firewall (hardware) installed.
Is there a way to connect MSN Messenger client by bypassing the proxy or any "tunneling" through proxy?
The Yahoo MSN connects without problems in the option "Firewall with no proxies"...

This is the error message that i get:
" Signing in to .NET Messenger Service failed becouse the service is temporary unavailable. Please try again later. 800701f6 "

When i check the current service status, it says: " All systems are stable and running. "

Regards,
Gipper

You can use Windows Messenger or Msn Messenger by signing in to a different server

@TGG

What settings I need to change in order to use MSN Messenger in to a different server?

Thanx
Gipper

P.S. Now i get the following error message: " Signing in to .NET Messenger Service failed because the service is too busy. Please try again later. 8100030e "

I'm not sure how to do it with Msn Messenger, but with Windows Messenger 5.1 you choose the server when you sign in

EDIT:

see http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=38...d=377266#pid377266 for changing the server for MSN

benellis2007 please use the [Image: edit.gif] key to edit your posts, it keeps the threads tidy...

there may be another reason, if its not the Bropia virus it could be another or maybe there is something configured wrongly on your computer

hi

I had problem with proxy and firewall to run programs like yahoo , icq , msn messenger, irc , emails on work (ports was blocked by firewall and proxy)
Even web messenger didn't work

Now i m using http://www.surfnolimit.com

You can access to all services and all websites !!! (like yahoo, msn messenger, icq.....with webcam and sound :-) )
You can also surf on restricted areas by your compagny/school ... with internet explorer or mozilla firefox for example
Stream is crypted so your employers can't know where u surf :-)

Trial period is free 2 days....but for my part i m using it for month :-)

For those who just need to surf on internet and use web based application (like msn web messenger they can use new service)
that s good :-)

Hi to all here !!!

As you can see i'm new member here.

I have the same problems as most members here with msn messanger.

Two week ago i can use my msn messanger 7.5, but after that i always get the same error message.

" Signing in to .NET Messenger Service failed becouse the service is temporary unavailable. Please try again later. 800701f6 "

When i check the current service status, it says: " All systems are stable and running. "

I can get in to webmessanger and my network admin tells me  that he didn't changed anything in last month. btw i use proxy server and have firewall.

I suspicius of some virus or spyware, but nothing i can find on my system.

Moreover when i open msn messanger and when i try to change mu name, history ..., i can't becouse everything is disabled.

Any help about my problem.

Thanks in advance.
