Stretchy, flexible boards for Opera 8 beta 2 by EvilSeph on 02-26-2005 at 05:08 AM

I've just upgraded to Opera 8 beta 2 and everything seems to be stretched, well, I guess only the posts and topics. It's probably an Opera issue, as it's happening with Neowin.net forums too..

Just thought I'd let you know, lest someone has a solution for the problem.

Yay, a new version finally... it's been over 2 months. :p

Change Log: http://www.opera.com/windows/changelogs/800b2/

I might install it, but I dunno... I need to be able to view the forums properly, and it's a pain to install in a different folder and then transfer all my stuff manually. :-/ For now I'll just assume it's a bug in Opera... someone will probably post about it on the Opera forums sooner or later if it happens on Neowin.

Hmm, it seems the "Fit to window width" option has no effect on anything anymore..could this be the fault? And can anyone confirm? I don't really know of any big (as in the size of the page, not the size of the community) sites to test this on.

hm....I'm using the new beta for some months now, and its working fine here :-/

The first thought I had was, you enabled "fit to window width" but that's apparently not the case..

Maybe you could post a screenshot or just try a reinstall.

The odd thing is, the bug doesn't show up for everyone..There's mixed responses on the Opera forums. Some people see the bug, some people don't.

Just to clarify, it's not because of a clean install or not. I always do clean installs for new Opera beta builds.

The bug appears in the second beta that's just a few days old.

Oh....yeah I'm not up to date atm.
Yup, just installed the second beta and there are some problems with the table width (again ).
I'm sticking with the relatively bug-free Opera 8.00.7401 for the moment.

For those of you wondering, probably not many of you, a new build has been released of Opera 8 Beta 2. Improvements include experimental IMAP code and I believe it fixes the table width bug. I haven't downloaded it, so please, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, it's fixed in the new beta.
