a good mouse by saralk on 02-26-2005 at 02:05 PM

hello

The one thing I am missing in my mouse, which i really want is a pagedown and pageup button.

I have a scroll wheel, but its no good for browsing long pages.

So any suggestions for a good, but cheap mouse?

optical is a must, and i dont have a preference over wireless/wired, but it has to have a USB interface.

you can set a mouse to scroll further on each click... not sure about yours, but you can with mine

the logitech mx900 is very good its even better if you get the keyboard with it , but it has the scroll up and down buttons and back and foward browsing buttons on the side :D

* -dt- has the inferred version of it which is the mx500 mx700

Ya, the MX500 (I have it) is good - the MX900 sucks [I hate wireless mice].
It costs like $50 Canadian/$40 USD though :P

all i want is a mouse with a scroll wheel, page up/down button, usb interface and is optical.

So, can those buttons be programmed to go page up/down?

$40, thats about £22, so maybe.

The best mouse in the world is arguably the Logitech MX1000 which is wireless and super l33t. I have the MX700 and wouldn't touch a corded  mouse now :D

Look out for the MX510 which is also a superb mouse albeit wired, but still fairly good. I think there is a model that is superceding it, so you might be able to find one reasonably cheap (y)

I have the Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard and mouse. The mouse that comes with this is the: "Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0". It's great - I would definately recommend it.

I've got the same mouse as blade, great mouse. With 2 side buttons it's good for gaming and I haven't had any problems with it.
