Well, i just started using contact on desktops.. and it should also blink with that orange light as they do in the taskbar.. because then,i could enable the windows feature of "Group similar taskbar buttons" and still see who answers on my convo windows.. because i have them on desktop! is there any way of doing this?

There wouldn't be any window covering anything up though.

What Fredzz means is that the contacts on desktop background, or text or whatever, flashes also together with the window in the taskbar.

A use for this can be when the taskbar is hidden, or when you have dual monitors and only looking at one moni (the one without the taskbar, but with the desktop contacts), etc... etc...

It is very well possible to do.

And because Patchou loves your avatar, he will certainly add it to his long to-do list

Oh, I see what you mean... well the point would be it is usefull in all other cases

yeah, well it's not always you are using internet explorer with full screen .. and for some windowblinds skins, like one im using, the blinking on the taskbar,we cant barely see it, and i also have the window sounds disabled, so its kinda hard to check..

I keep all my "desktop contacts" right over the start menu, and they're set as "Always on top", so that would really help

ive been looking for something to keep my chat window always on top aswell but cant seem to find anything, so contacts on desktop does the job for now.

But if i can see when they send a message that would be very usful..

Basicly i play allot of online games, and the game is obviously run in full screen, knocking off the taskbar. when using contacts on desktop, with always on top i can see when users log in and so on, but not when they try to send me messages...

Having it blink or flash would be very usfull.

Any news on this cool feture?

No... that is, firstly, totaly out of scope of Plus!. And second, that would be different for each possible game...

If you add this feature make sure its an option, i wouldnt personally use it... My desktops generally covered and sometimes im working and flashes annoy me.. Also it uses up precious system resources in all its flashyness

i dont mean built into the game, but just displayed on top of the window but in a way that hides all the chat window leaving just the words, that could be possible surly

I think what hes trying to say is...
having the chat window always on top.. so its on top of the game..

Then to stop it geting in the way, have it seethrough.. only showing the text.. so therefore you can see what sstill happening in the game.


But that could probably be done by a clear seethrough skin?

OK, i did find a way of making chat windows always on top.

but it requires the nvidia drivers installed.
Its part of the Nview program that comes with the drivers. you can set any window to always display on top.

im sure you could find another program that does the same thing.

Any news on flashing "Contacts on Desktop"?
