Hi,

i'm currently on 3mb download, 256 upload.
i'm capped at 1gb a day, however its not a strict cap, i could download 5gb in one day if i wished, my ISP (NTL), just doesnt expect me to download 5GB a day, so it's all good .

512K DSL here was going to be capped to something like 5 GB a month (Telecom -> :dodgy: ), but then a lot of people complained and they didn't do it...

I think iinet is probably the best in Aust but i use Westnet, 256k 5gb upstream/downstream and that is pretty fast

ask your isp or just ask your parents if they are the one paying for the connection?

edit: or just take your normal download speed in kilobytes/sec, multiply by 8 and you have your speed in kilobits/sec roughly

At this current moment I'm on 300k unlimited. But hopefully by the end of the month I'll be changing to 2mb with a 1gb download limit per day. So thats about 30gb's a month. More than enough to keep me happy.

Yes, before I was capped at 10 GB -- Download and Upload together! Means If I download too much, No cap for uploading. Until they removed the capping, I was paying 7$ per extra GB of bandwidth, Now I download about 40~ GB per month! =P

Broadband in India is really cheap, I saw an advert for broadband at about Rs 400 /- pm!

Also, in India Reliance do a really cool wireless home phone service. Its awesome

But that is 40 ps per min and actuall download speed is 4 - 5 kbps even tho the connection shows 144 kbps in win 98 and some 260 kbps in win xp :undecided:

Its 400 pm for limited bandwidth but since my dad works in the public sector and we live in the company colony ...... I can get 40 kbps unlimited bandwith for that much when others get 64 kbps and only 500 mb bandwidth
