Hey everyone,

It's been 5 months already since the release of the last public version of Messenger Plus! and I'm proud to announce that Messenger Plus! 3.50 is now available for download! The new Custom Emotion Sound has been tested thoroughly this past month and is expected to work like a charm, the servers are waiting for you! All the beta testers are unanimous: the new emotion sound feature is the best thing that happened to Messenger Plus! in a long time. Note that some things have been polished since the last screenshots were published. Some new stuff has been added too, don't think you already know what to expect in the new version .
This new release comes with two new surprises: the first one is a brand new Configuration Wizard. It was not mentioned in the last news post as I was not sure this feature would come to maturity before the final release. The Configuration Wizard is meant to inform users about some of the exciting things Messenger Plus! can do for them. Plus! has always been packed with features and most users don't know half of them, this new wizard should help fix the problem.

The other surprise is a way to promote the new Messenger Plus! version while rewarding all of my users for their support over the past 4 years (yeah, already!). Some of you may remember the GameCube contest that was organized almost two years ago. I thought it would be a good idea to renew the experience, however, Messenger Plus! 3.50 being a major event, I had to find major prizes... starting today and until the end of April, a PlayStation Portable (PSP) pack will be given out every week! and like if that was not enough, the contest will end with one big final prize consisting in a brand new Alienware Area-51m 7700 laptop, the best laptop on the market today, a value of $3,000! so, is that exciting or what? for more information, check out the official Launch Party Giveaway pages.

It should not be run after every install! I will be installing MsgPlus on 3 PC's and I do not need the wizard to run by default on all these PC's as I am an experienced user and know the features of Plus. If you want, make it ticked by default, and users can untick the box.

A little suggestion about pop3 settings

If I want to disable a pop3 account, I must delete the account's configurations. Would you (Patchu) add enable or disable (a checkbox) to active or deactive this email account.

    just wanted to say I stayed up til 4am this morning for the new release of Messenger Plus and I have to say it was worth every minute of it, im well chuffed with it. I'd like to say thanks to all those involved and keep up the brill work!!

The custom sounds are really good

I say the background colours being shown on the main page aswell as the letter colours should be added but it's great. Great work Patchou.

I think you're supposed to compile the packs yourself and upload them to the server (like a sound)
But that would be cool if Patchou released some packs for Plus!

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but when i use this Plus! with the public BETA, and use personal status, it will appear like:
Art Crazy (Status)(Away)
I think its a bug so u better fix it!

Well, the new "attach name" feature is still better is several ways.. the text is formatted automatically in Messenger 7 and the name is notattached in some places so that it's more clear.

I always love the idea of custom nicks, but i also like to know the name that person put, so just now I have started to use the custom name feature and is just great! But i don't know why the names don't are ordered by name but by e-mail, can this be changed?

And I have two little suggestions, that i try to see if any plugin developer can do and all the answers I got was that only you can do it...

The first suggestion is the possibility of add another menu in the contact "right click" that if the contact have some links in the name they will appear in there and open the link in the web-browser (please read more in http://shoutbox.menthix.net/showthread.php?tid=38641 )



The other suggestion is for the pop mail accounts. Isn’t possible to have a pre-configured mail providers (like gmail.com) as an option, and we only need to field the username and pass? and also the ability of have in the contact list a "space" for each account (like in the image)?

I get that plus symbol but not that 2 acc thingy. Cant configure gmail checking I read somewhere (a cookie post was it ) that gmail doesnt alwayz work or something

I'm quite surprised really, about the sounds, nobody has really spammed me that much, its a good thing that not many people really care about it as much as I thought, I mean its a great feature, I just thought that the server would be completely spammed...

I just think that they should be a little longer in length... im not saying a 4 min mp3 file... but longer in length to allow for longer joke type sounds... maybe 30 seconds.

I dont think that i would count 30 seconds as a sound. would you?

It is just my opinion. I just find a lot of sounds are cut off before they should be.

well im just back from france and i downloaded the new version of msgplus and its changed sinds the day that i left to france but its a great prgressing for msgplus and also for patchou and keep going on like that mate and hope to talk to you soon

i always face some kinda problem dloading the sounds what should i do? do ne one has any suggestions?
