WORSE Word Filter on Plus 3.5 by jvlppm on 03-17-2005 at 02:41 PM

The word filter isnt working good at MsgPlus 3.5

i had one filter from

c -> se

se: -> c:

when i type "c:\something" it sends "se:\something" instead of "c:\something"

(my filter was working on the others versions of MsgPlus)

3.5  have a worse word filter

RE: Word Filter by Eljay on 03-17-2005 at 02:45 PM

what does this filter actually do and what is it supposed to do?

RE: Word Filter by jvlppm on 03-17-2005 at 02:48 PM

suposed to change all "c" to "se" but if it is "c:" it changes to "se:" then backs to "c:"

(change all "c" to "se" but does not change "c:")

filter does not work on new version

RE: Word Filter by Eljay on 03-17-2005 at 02:50 PM

it works fine for me :S

make sure of the following:
both filters are set to filter "messages you send"
that the c -> se filter is before the other filter as they are filtered in order

RE: Word Filter by jvlppm on 03-17-2005 at 02:55 PM

does not

it changes c: to c: (good), but when is c:\something it does not change c: back to c:

and filters still does not support * on the 2 fields

will patchou add support for * on the 2 fields?
(that would fix my problem and add a lot of possibilities to my filters)

they are to messages you send

and of course the c is before the se: (alphabetical order(another bad thing(not customizable :( )))

I have the same sort of problem.

I had MsgPlus! setup to change the word localhost to my ip adress.
That works fine, but if i put, for example, this: http://localhost/ it won't change it...(it just stays as localhost).

Any fix for that?

Create a filter and put:

http://localhost/ <= change this
http://(!IP)/ <= for this

I just did it and it worked. (For the text you send, of course)

no no, the filter is not case sensitivy
(a button to set it sensitivy would be nice)

You can make it case sensitive via Registry tweak (download MsgPlus! Tweak from http://msgplus.net/help_registry.php ).

? There is a wildcard you can use in this version. However, it doesn't retain what it caught (I think).

Could be cool to call $1 and such.

one example of what i'm talking about is you use this command on MS-DOS

ren *.jpeg *.jpg

RE: WORSE Word Filter on Plus 3.5 by CookieRevised on 03-18-2005 at 02:22 AM

Wild cards will not be added (soon) because it can mess many things up. Also there is a limit in textsize which needs to be taken in account. This has been discussed a long long time ago btw (so, to know more detail search the forums ;))

No, filters are not executed alphabetically, they are executed in the way they are added to the list. To check this go to your registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Patchou\MsgPlus2\you@mail.com\WordFilters

You can customize it in the registry if you like.

But it is true that the filters are indeed behaving a bit dodgy though.
RE: WORSE Word Filter on Plus 3.5 by stephen_wq on 03-18-2005 at 05:58 AM

thats basicly a double filter, maybe this version doesnt support double filters?

and why would you want c to go to se?

i'm brazilian

like "u" is "you", "c" is "se"

everything was working fine, but patchou, to avoid filtering of urls

changed the "/" and "\" to be a part of the word (para evitar a fadiga como diria jaiminho)

but this metod isnt good
cause urls still can be filtered
example if you want to try

add filter

"d" -> "de" (portuguese, like c and see)

send this url to someone

http://somesite.com/index.php?d=PFISFDUP

u will c that the "d" was filtered, so to be sure that the url will not be filtered i still need to disable the filter

instead of patchou make something like
if find "http" or "www"
    for (to the next space)
on each tested filter

and

someone said the the filters are on the sequence you add them

so test it yourself

add
"xim" - "filtered"
then
"x" - "xim"

if it was not alphabeticaly, when i send one "x" it will pass the "xim" and go to the "x" - "xim"
the message send was suposed to be "xim" but it sends "filtered"

the "x" was added before, but in alphabeticaly order it comes before the "xim", so it changes from "x" -> "xim" and "xim" -> "filtered"

i havent looked at the registry cause i know that is on alphabeticaly order

look again at the word filters, everything is in alphabeticaly order
its visible

c it for yourself, add a filter

delete this filter on registry
and the filter still works

the registry is just checked when u go to c ur filter list, then it is alphabetically ordered

edit: i have looked at the registry, there is on added order
but msgplus do not follow the registry order

thanks for telling me that it is on registry, no i finaly can put a dam space before the word to be filtered (edit: it removes the word before that one, so bad i dont have a wildcard to make "* word" to "* filteredword")

and finaly i know
i have 763 filters on my list (yes i like it, but it could be better)
