Sound error by Odium696 on 03-18-2005 at 06:49 PM

Some times when I try to send a sound (Downloaded) it says this error: "An error ocured while contacting the server, pleas try again later. If this probles persists check your security settings."

This errors happens randomly, also the security settings are ok, I Think :P

any Idea?

PS. this is what makes Plus! swesome, and its not working!!!!!! :(

RE: Sound error by user35870 on 03-18-2005 at 07:01 PM

this is because the sound sever is stressed (overloaded) with so many people using it

RE: Sound error by wj on 03-18-2005 at 07:03 PM

I'm looking into it right now.

RE: Sound error by Odium696 on 03-18-2005 at 07:06 PM

Thx

I'll be waiting!

RE: Sound error by wj on 03-18-2005 at 07:10 PM

I've made some updates to the server. Should be able to handle the load a little more efficently now.

RE: Sound error by Odium696 on 03-18-2005 at 07:42 PM

RE: Sound error by Filb on 03-18-2005 at 07:45 PM

I'm still not able to use the sound feature. It worked a few hours ago, but now it doesn't. :(

Edit: Now I'm getting this message:
---------------------------
Messenger Plus!
---------------------------
Das Eigene Emotion Sounds Feature ist im Augenblick deaktiviert.
Der Server könnte z.Z. gewartet werden, bitte später erneut versuchen.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

It says it's currently disabled etc. Looks like it's being worked on it.

After it's downloaded, the file should be saved locally and you could figure out a P2P method... Save thousands in server costs.

of course it is...
see "CookieRevised's reply to sounds"...

But sharing that file will do no good, you need to add it to your personal sound library. Easiest way to do that is either by sending the sound to your friend (as that is the purpose of this feature) or make a soundpack and mail that to your friends (they have to import the soundpack)...

the cached files are not playable btw. They are playable (mp3) but shouldn't be fiddled with. They will be rejected by the server.

I've been getting the "No sound is presently available on the server" when I go to random sound.
This started yesterday afternoon and still doesn't work. :(
