well in the registeration it asks for refferer. And what if you put someones name. what do they get?

Doesn't the referral system work automatically (you don't have to fill anything in)?

they don't 'get' anything, its just a way of seeing if poeple tell other people about the forum and its only visible by admin afaik

I think its there because is useful in other forums that "get up" experience or things like that, like gaia
