(/showthread.php?tid=40755) i was close to overheat... by Jhrono on 03-21-2005 at 02:11 AM Well i was playing cs and gradually the vent of the power source became more of a light ffffffffff then a normal vrrrrrrrrrr...then it was impossible it could...i dont know...BANG any second the speed was the highest i have ever seen from a vent...now i changed the power cable and it's allright (yep the other was kinda dodgy) but i wont try CS again...i checked the wats of the cables and of the power source and i got stupified looking at it...the power source says 230 W (wich i guess is the max for the cable right?) and the cable is 250 W...anyway i probably fucked up the power source so i'm gonna have to install a new one...i'd like u to advise me of how many W should it have...thanks... RE: i was close to overheat... by MC.POP on 03-21-2005 at 02:13 AM 115 is probably good. RE: i was close to overheat... by Jhrono on 03-21-2005 at 02:15 AM r u kiddin me? i have a up-to-date catalog of a pc store here and all they have is 300 W and up... RE: i was close to overheat... by MC.POP on 03-21-2005 at 02:27 AM well those are the new PC according to what u said your PC cant take that much power. RE: i was close to overheat... by Jhrono on 03-21-2005 at 02:29 AM wtf?that's what the power source says..if i buy another power source it will keep up with more...what i mean is that i'm buying a new one, so how many wats should it handle? RE: i was close to overheat... by Caboose on 03-21-2005 at 02:38 AM I think a 250 W or 300 W would do fine. I've got 3 HD's, a DVD burner & a floppy, all goin' off of a 250 W... course, I had to put in another fan, but that's besides the point RE: i was close to overheat... by Jhrono on 03-21-2005 at 02:39 AM Well i've got a normal fan and then the other in the power source...Bah i cant forget the noise... RE: i was close to overheat... by ddunk on 03-21-2005 at 02:45 AM I've got 3 fans, 2 hdds, and 2 dvd drives (1 burner, 1 reader) going off a 350. So probably a 300-350 would be fine. |
