First of all hi everybody: that's my very first post in here (H)

Now, let's get straight to the point.
I have quite a number of custom emoticons in my library (around 200 right now, but I have another 2000 waiting... ) - Plus! made it possible to choose them without suffering too much, and the adders can do the hard work of adding them for me. But... still, it's not enough.

What I'm looking for:

A fast way to add the Emoticons (okay, that's easy)
A way to EDIT them once they've been created (the built in editor sucks)
A way to rearrange them... it's nice to have all the WTF near, for instance.
A way to import/export them in group/mass (for backup/passing to friends...)

...etc etc. Since I think there in no such tool around, I think I can begin working on it.

Now the questions:
1) Is it technically feasible?
2) Is there decent documentation about the emoticon library (yes, I'm lazy, I don't want to check it right now...)?
3) Do you personally think it would be useful?
4) Any other features?

You might be able to create your own sound pack and import them

Sorry, I got totaly mislead by the words "custom library" and then mwe99's post. It has been a very very long while since anybody talked about the custom emoticon stuff...

np. Anyway, is there the possibility to mess around with that? Maybe an external tool could be fine...

I dunno how 'your' plugin would be any different then the build in msn messenger editor though...

You can usse the up a down arrows in the emoticon configuration panel. Again, the plugin would work just the same...

That is however "new". Although this can already be done by some costum emoticons adders which already exist...

What emoticon library? There is no such things as an emoticon library. Every emoticon is stored seperaty.

If you mean the cache file which holds the info like shortcuts and stuff. Then that file is encrypted and it is very hard to edit it. Many people have tried, and failed...

Yes and no. It would only be yet another addon/program/whatever which makes an attempt and/or can be added to the list of other similar addons...

You might want to check out the emoticons adders and related stuff on the download section of http://www.mess.be/. Also some threads on http://www.msnfanatic.com/ are about the custom emoticons (eg: here). i think he means to visually edit them once in msn, i simple paiint program could do it or something to change the hue/saturation on them

Thanks everybody. Since it seems there is no way to mess with it (because of the encryption), I think I'll just stick with the adder and rearrange them with the panel configurator (This is gonna take some time...) ^^
