Computer Problem by J.J on 03-28-2005 at 08:45 AM

Well this morning everything was normal with my browser (crazy browser) until a install screen came up on my screen saying 'click here to update your broswer'

I clicked install, and since then my browser has been laggy every time i click on a new link or a page starts to load...

My anti virus alerted me about 5 times saying that i had virus's which i immeadietely deleted...

I've also been getting pop-ups about every 15 mintues and found a folder of spyware on my computer with the spyware scanner |-)

Obviousely that 'update' thing was all a bunch of crap and ive installed something bad...

I've tryed uninstalling my browser and using firefox, but i've had some problems using firefox aswel, when i click on some links, it doesn't load, or some websites i go to the pages won't completely show

I tryed reinstalling crazy browser after i removed the spyware but i've still got the same problem

Could somebody help me out? It would be greately appreciated :)

Maybe its a problem with that current version of the browser? I can't quite see what the problem is, try downloading an older version of the browser to see if the problems fixed, but remove any instances of the browser that are on your system first...

ok once u right click on MY COMPUTERS and u go down to properties.. Right then pops up a window. In that window there is like 7 tabs. One of them say System Restore. :D

RE: Browser Problem by Hank on 03-29-2005 at 06:03 AM

By Making a New Firefox Profile to see if this cures the problem see below

Creating a New Mozilla Firefoz profile
         ======================================

        1) Select Start > Run... from the Windows Start menu.

        2) Enter firefox.exe -profilemanager and press OK.
       =======================================================

RE: Browser Problem by .Roy on 03-29-2005 at 06:04 AM

he said he already tried that. Check his earlier post

RE: Browser Problem by J.J on 03-29-2005 at 06:56 AM

The system resotre didn't work and my broswer just seems to be getting worse...crazy browser continuousely crashes after i open more than 2 tabs

RE: Browser Problem by Hank on 03-29-2005 at 07:01 AM

can u open Task Manager an go look at what processes ur running?

RE: Browser Problem by J.J on 03-29-2005 at 10:23 AM

Here you go...

The popups aren't as frequent anymore but im still getting them :undecided:

I'm currently using firefox as my browser, but i need crazy broswer to work for me because when i go to www.stableking.com the pages don't load properly with firefox...

Edit: I take back what i said about the popups :dodgy:

RE: Browser Problem by Hank on 03-29-2005 at 10:26 AM

what the hel is "crazy browser"  is it like avant browser?

think i solved the problem.. try disabling Ad-watch

RE: Browser Problem by auhsor on 03-29-2005 at 01:30 PM

Ad-watch is related to Adaware, so I don't think it should be a problem. Still, try disabling it and see what happens.

also u could have gotten something from just randomly browsing the web with ie its probley tons of things hooking into IE making the shell (craxy browser) go slow
RE: Browser Problem by J.J on 03-29-2005 at 09:50 PM

Then how do i fix it :undecided:

There must be a reason for the pop-ups i'm getting too?

RE: Browser Problem by .Roy on 03-30-2005 at 05:38 AM

You can always reformat your computer...

I think u downloaded an updated version of your browser from a fake website or something... Or u entered a site that had bunch of spyware on accident...

RE: Browser Problem by J.J on 03-30-2005 at 05:42 AM

I just started my computer and found these icons on my desktop...they were there when i first downloaded whatever i downloaded, but i deleted them, and now they're back...

RE: Browser Problem by .Roy on 03-30-2005 at 05:47 AM

hmm its like the msg plus spyware thing lol..

What did u recently download other then your browser?
Try to uninstall it and give your computer a restart.

RE: Browser Problem by Hank on 03-30-2005 at 06:01 AM

all u can do is try uninstalling some programs.. but why would ya use IE?.. try out the New Netscape8 beta it has 2 Engines in it.. Gecko an IE Engine , it may suite those needs

RE: Computer Problem by Hank on 03-30-2005 at 07:16 AM

might be a good idea to uninstall each bit of software that u installed an mayb e reinstall it at a later date?

RE: Computer Problem by Eljay on 03-30-2005 at 07:52 AM

have u looked in the registry?

look at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run

list all the keys here

Dont play with the registry if you dont know what your doing.

RE: Computer Problem by Eljay on 03-31-2005 at 07:09 AM

you can download this: Startup Manager

it adds a startup manager to windows control panel so you can easily change what runs on startup. its also useful because it stores deleted keys in case you delete anything you want back ;)

well list everything that startup manager lists and we can see if theres anything that shouldnt be there
RE: Computer Problem by ShawnZ on 03-31-2005 at 07:31 AM

NEVER trust any popup like that, unless its a REAL dialog and not just a big image filling in a javascript popup window. If it seems like just a still image, and you can click it everywhere, AD.

Also, never trust that shit unless its clearly from microsoft. Even having it appear while your on thier site is still not proof. Only windows Update messages and such can be trusted, and even still, windows update would not make popups. :P

well a website said it collects information about your computer but if its for games i can understand why...

for the others though just untick them and then go to the location where the file is located and try to delete the files, if you cant, use ctr+alt+delete to end them if they are running and try again.

then restart your pc to see if the problem still occurs
RE: Computer Problem by J.J on 03-31-2005 at 12:05 PM

Hrmm, i found the isrvs file, and thats the thing that i must have installed, the icons that i found on the desktop are in the folder...

But it won't let me delete it - it says 'Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not cuttently in use...

I closed everything and tryed deleting it but it still says the same thing...

Anyone know how to delete it?
