The pope has passed away by Savior on 04-01-2005 at 06:52 PM

Hi everyone,

I would like to announce that the Pope John Paul II has passed away today at 8:30pm Vatican time

the Vatican has not confirmed this yet!

Not yet, the Italian press releaced it at the time of your posting...it has since been cleared up as untrue, it was press confusion. The pope is still with us for a short while yet. I hope he doesn't suffer and passes away soon

Same thing on Sky News over here. However they said that a lot of conflicting news reports are going out from people concerned. He won't last more than a few hours...

Hmm, I think that they should just let him pass away in peace, in whatever ways possible...

notes on the confusing and conflicting press reports earlier:
* the pope isn't dead yet. But it is very very critical and he is dying.
The moment he dies:
  - will be confirmed by a doctor
  - some other stuff will be done
  - after +-15 minutes an official news bulletin from Cardinal (forgot name) will be spread.
* first press bulletin from TAS that the pope has died is untrue
* press bulletins from other agencies that the pope is brain dead is untrue
* as of yet no new news is available
