Various solutions might work. I'll mention a few.

Attempt 1.

  1. Click Start > Run
  2. Type msiexec /unreg and press Enter
  3. Click Start > Run
  4. Type msiexec /regserver and press Enter
  5. Try to install again

Attempt 2.
  1. Look for the folder C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS and open it
  2. If you find InstallTemp, rename it to InstallTempBACKUP
  3. If you find x86_Microsoft.Windows.Networking.Dxmrtp_6595b64144 ccf1df_5.2.0.4868_x-ww_212f7d9e, rename it to  x86_Microsoft.Windows.Networking.Dxmrtp_6595b64144 ccf1df_5.2.0.4868_x-ww_212f7d9eBACKUP
  4. Try to install again

Attempt 3.
  1. Go to Start > Search (all folders and files)
  2. Look for sfc.dll, usually in C:\Windows\System32
  3. If you have found it, rename it to sfc.dll.old
  4. Try to install again
  5. If it works, don't forget to rename it back to sfc.dll ;)

You posted your thread in the wrong forum section, Help & Support is for Plus! related problems only. This is MSN Messenger related, so I moved your thread to the correct forum. You can now find it there (the lock icon may be misleading, but you can still post).
