Microsoft MSN Messenger Security Patches by alegator on 04-11-2005 at 06:59 AM

Whenever Microsoft releases MSN security patches, accessible via the Windows Update, the MSN.exe file gets patched, so do I have to reinstall Plus! and additional patches and plugins (like A-Patch, StuffPlug, etc) after applying the security patch?
(by the way I read the next one is being released tomorrow Tuesday)

you don't have to reinstall plus! or the plugins (if you have the new version of plus! compatible with msn 7 which i assume you do)

you may need to reinstall the patch though (a-patch). reinstalling msn messeger restores the original settings so .. an update might too :-/

Edit: actually i'm going to try this right now

Edit 2: yep you will have to reinstall a-patch :-/

:( I suspected all of this...so that means everytime Microsoft releases a patch it's like starting all over again..

You won't have to reinstall Messenger Plus! as it isn't a patch, it isn't breaking any laws... its completely legit, it simply hooks messenger nothing else :)...

Thanks for the info guys, didn't realise I would have to do A-Patch again.
