Someone please help! by mastermind123 on 04-15-2005 at 12:19 AM

When I installed MSN 7, it wouldn't let me sign in. I kept getting the message:

"Sorry, we are unable to sign you into MSN Messenger at this time. Please try again later.  80072efd "

So I uninstalled 7, and re-installed 6.2, and it did the same thing. I've tried re-installing them both various times, but I keep getting this message...

Any solutions? I've tried looking around other threads for help, but I couldn't really find anything.

Can someone pleeease help me?

what OS are you using?.. try uninstalling MSN Messenger an going to C:/Program files/MSN Messenger <<-- an delete the messenger folder  an then go into Registry an delete the MSN Messenger reg Key .

go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/MSNMessenger <<-- delete that Key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/MSNMessenger <<-- an delete that Key an reboot an reinstall MSN Messenger 7

Is there any possibility that the server might be down, have you experienced any other problems recently or is it just now, if it's just "out of the blue", then it will probably server errors, therefore, waiting is the only thing that will suffice.

I sometimes have this problem too, but for some reason I was connected to the server trough my internet's proxy settings. Make sure you have a direct connection with the service. In my case I had to enable the UPnP port on my router, which is neccesary to let it work properly. Also you can enable the virtual servers, which is easy to select in a belkin router. Now it's gone at mine. Agree with the webmessenger hint. I used it a couple of times too;). Good luck...
