Error 0xc0000022 by Y2Pdogg on 04-17-2005 at 04:34 PM

On all the other accounts on this computer, I keep getting error 0xc0000022 with LogiTray.exe - Application Error at the top. I can't get on the internet on those sides and most of my icons are missing. Wtf is going on?!

btw, It's Windows XP SP1 and all accounts are admins.

Please explain the problem more:

- When does that message appear? When you login into one account?
- You say you can't get to the internet, what kind of connection do you have?
- What icons are missing?
- How long since this is happening?

So, what happens in those 4 accounts that don't work?

Any error message?

Overall, it looks like your system is very damaged, maybe you have a virus. Run a virus scan. You might need to format and reinstall Windows :-/

Reboot your computer and keep tapping the F8 key. If done correctly you will get a startup menu. Choose Safe Mode and press enter then choose your Windows and press enter.

Once at the login screen. Choose the account that says administrator. Once logged in (this will take awhile since its the first time the account has logged in). Click on start > run > type msconfig and press enter. Click on the startup tab along the top row of the window. Look for in this list LogiTray.exe and uncheck it. (If you want when you get back into Windows you can PM me the entire list and I can tell you what you would need). Click Apply then OK, it will say you need to restart, click restart.

And you should be fine.

Matty, LogiTray.exe is just an utility from Logitech webcams, just disabling it as you said won't help with that... :-/

Besides, you're disabling that in the Administrator account and you don't even need to go into safe mode...

If his computer is bluescreening (hence the 0x00000022) then yes disabling the App from running should fix it. If the App was installed and ran under Local Machine not Current User then the Administrator account is sefice for disabling it.

I disabled the Application. It quit bring up the 0xc0000022 error but I still can't do anything with the other sides of the computer. Icons are still missing and internet still isn't working.

I tried a AVG virus scan and it didn't find anything.

Can you login to all the accounts now? Was the 0xC0000022 error message displayed in blue full screen? (Matty: sorry, I thought it was just the app crashing, not a BSOD).

About the icons, try rebuilding the icon cache. Download and install Microsoft's Powertoys for Windows XP, run TweakUI, go to Repair, make sure "Rebuild icons" is selected and click Repair now.

About the internet, how are you trying to connect? What's the problem? Any error messages?
