Trouble with my network bridge by .blade// on 04-21-2005 at 06:38 PM

Well I have problems regarding my router when I put my computer behind it (bcz of the way my ISP captures MAC addresses -_-). I installed a second NIC card in my PC, and put the connection on a bridge + enabled ICS on the NIC with the internet connection, but it doesn't want to connect.

What settings do I need to enable/modify? It's setup like this:

[DSL Modem]----[PC NIC 1]-[PC NIC 2]----[SMC Wireless Router]  <wireless> [SONY PSP]

Note: The PSP is able to connect when the router is connected directly to my internet connection.

The router needs to be told your PC is the gateway.

Easy way, set router to DHCP on the port coming from the computer, set PSP to DHCP configuration too. As the Windows ICS contains a built in DHCP server leases for IP's and configuration details should automatically be designated to clients.

Make sure you disable the DHCP server on the router though, so it doesn't try to hand out it's own IP Addresses.
