A new, internal, MSN Messenger build appeared on the web not too long ago, carrying build number 814. It is clearly a big improvement over the “final” of the 7th version of MSN Messenger. It signs in faster, not to mention loads up a whole lot faster as well and scrolling through your contactlist is a lot smoother too (especially when enabling large thumbnails).

But that’s not all - A couple of new features and options appeared in the new build as well. First of there will probably be an option to disable the restriction on file extensions, good news for those who regulary want to receive files which are being blocked by the client. Second, there is a new button in conversation windows called “Promote buddy”. What this will do isn’t exactly known yet, but our bet is on either MSN Messenger content promotion or a sort of ranking system for your buddies. Finally, a new button for “Always on top” appeared in the contact list window when viewing it without toolbar.

Just so other member's are aware, you can't post the link to the leaked version. If it is, it will probably either get edited or deleted by a mod.

I just downloaded it. I dont really notice that much of a difference. None the less, I like to keep my messenger up to date.

Poor Rolando and other skinners, they have to update their skins again

When will there be an A patch or Messpatch for this version... I checked out the patched version on the blog but it doesnt let me choose what I want... Does anyone know if there is production on a patch like they had for the previous versions?

I think they may wait till the official beta comes out for that.

Seems to me like the Polygamy and Ad remover for contact list from StuffPlug 2.2.119 works on this update... for now anyway, haven't tried file send thangy yet... 

I downloaded it stuck it in my c:/program files/msn mesenger folder and it works great no ad banner and my polygamy is working fine.  I thought it may have been a install file but hey who am I to argue. 

It seems to work perfectly with Plus! and other plug-ins such as Stuffplug-NG. Doesn't look like there are any major changes made to it.

Hmm... I wonder what that star button is for, it's blanked out for now...

I installed this and it went back to MSN7.0.0777 when i exited odd.

I think this is fake it has no install might just be skin i really dont know just think it's a fake feel free to correct me if i'm wrong

It's not fake, it does work i probably deleted it though.

If you have any problems...

this is what i did.

I downloaded the archive,
extracted the files,
opened the folder containing the extracted files,
went into the MSN Messenger directory (Usually, C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger),
compared the files in both folders (.dll's main .exe etc.),
renamed the files with the same file names as in the extracted folder to something like for msnmsgr, renamed to msnmsgr_bak.exe,
then I moved the extracted files over to the MSN Messenger directory,
then I started MSN Messenger.

got it just sayin that it seems a fake i had a skin that did the same thing

does this really seem real to you i think its a fake good improvment tho

well i didn't see an official MSN screen installtion thing so might be a fake

It does seem real and works fine, but I noticed that there are no BETA notes all over the place in this versionand there's no installer..

But if it was a fake and just a skin, how would you explain the new "always on top button" and the "promote buddy" button ?
Skins usually don't add improvements and new buttons

It doesn't include the installer, its a rip of the msn messenger directory after installation. They just included the files that have changed and obviously theres no registry updates needed for it . It keeps the file size smaller

would the mess.be patch or stuffplug's plugin work with this version?

i wanna download it lol but i need those two patch and plugin to be compatible first.

as far as ive noticed, everything is compatible

The mess.be custom games patch doesn't work with that build at the moment...

looks the same but it loads much faster which is good

hopefully all the skinners will be able to update there skins soon for this new version. im in love with mac skin

found a Bug in it already .. if you go into OPTIONS > an in PERSONAL an untik the ( show me as "away" blah blah" it'll ask you to sign in as a Admin an repair it.

It still didn't fix the bug that MSN freezes when you change to thai font. I mailed those microsoft people and they never replied. I don't know why but I can't type thai and the PSM Now playing feature isn't working since 7.0.0604. Sometimes (very rarely) I can type thai and use PSM Now Playing feature though.

I personally like this version.  I havent found any bugs in it and it seems to be more stable.

You were wondering why it didnt have an installer?
Well, Volvok and Ahmad (A-Patch) did some rechacking and changed the version number to 0814

So you are all allowed to use it

The always on top thing is good, and it seems to scroll better

is good if it wasnt Buggy an it actually worked
