ZA and windows by Supersonicdarky on 04-24-2005 at 01:54 AM

i was thinking of installing ZA instead of windows firewall. Should i or should i not? What are the differences?

I have Zone Alarm with Antivirus.

You can enable ZA so it asks you if you want to accept a program or not, unlike Windows Firewall.

Example: You download a virus by accident. ZoneAlarm will alert you if you want to allow the program to run or not. On this accasion you would click decline.

Zone Alarm has also got E-mail protection (if you use Outlook, Outlook express)

If you get it with AntiVirus... then.... you can search your pc for viruses :P

Hope that helps.

Windows Firewall is just as good as ZA. It all comes down to how the user reacts to alerts. A firewall is useless if the user just goes and allows everything.

So does Windows Firewall as of SP2. And anyway, it'd only ask about the virus if the virus tried accessing the Internet.
