RE: Slow transfer by absorbation on 04-24-2005 at 02:17 PM

It can depend on the person your sending it to :P
They may have a slow connection or a firewall making it slow ;)

RE: Slow transfer by Reaper on 04-24-2005 at 02:20 PM

well people i send to usually have a good broadband connection, i neva used to get this on 6.2.
and also most people still deisable their firewall and it still goes slow

Are you sure you're not connected trough your internet settings, but directly with the messenger service? You can check this at the connection tab. Also, for filetransfers, you might enable the UPnP port on the router's settings, if you have a router. You can also check this at the connection tab wheater this option is enabled or not.

hmm
well its says on the connections tab:
You are currently connected to .NET Messenger Service using your default browsers HTTP proxy server settings.

anything rong with that or is it ok?

RE: Slow transfer by BEWARE^^ on 04-24-2005 at 02:36 PM

what file transfer are you using atm or try to use stuffplug-NG filetransfer plus if your not using it

you can get the latest version from there

http://www.stuffplug.com/?act=downloads

and you can get the key from

http://www.stuffplug.com/?act=generate

EDIT:
well the proxy can slow it down try to use "tcp" in tools> options> connection> advanced settings

with no proxy

RE: Slow transfer by Reaper on 04-24-2005 at 02:39 PM

RE: Slow transfer by Reaper on 04-24-2005 at 02:51 PM

If you are experiencing a slow transfer rate, click here to find out why.

the person i am sendin too is directly connected and has no firewall in case u needed to know.

RE: Slow transfer by Exca on 04-24-2005 at 02:51 PM

You're sure your provider didn't put you on smallband because of crossing down- and upload limit?

EDIT: or your friend?

EDIT: Ow yeah, you don't need a specific firewall like norton firewall to have a firewall. XP has got it's own firewall, check it. And when you have a router, it probably has got it's own firewall too.

RE: Slow transfer by Reaper on 04-24-2005 at 02:54 PM

no my isp has no limits, upload or download. this a

im not connected thru a router, im connected directly to the internet. and my windows xp firewall is disabled cos i use a third party one

RE: Slow transfer by BEWARE^^ on 04-24-2005 at 02:55 PM

RE: Slow transfer by Reaper on 04-24-2005 at 02:59 PM

hmm. the lugin wont be of much use cos i need my frends to have it installed aswell, anyway to do it without 3rd party software?

RE: Slow transfer by Exca on 04-24-2005 at 03:03 PM

When sometimes it doesn't work with me, I just DCC the file in mIRC... Sometimes servers are being slow, then there is no explination...
