Internet2 and CA net 4 by .blade// on 04-25-2005 at 03:28 PM

I just read an article in the paper while I was looing at the cartoons (:refuck:) about "Internet2" and "CA net 4". They're basically an ultra high-speed internet connection. Hackers have been using it to get out cracks, rips, movies, music and other illegal files as fast as possible (and there is now a lawsuit against some of them for using it for that purpose). As an example in a demo of the connection - they downloaded a full length, DVD quality copy of "The Matrix" in 30 seconds o.O

I'll get a scan of the article later if nobody has a link to info on it online :P

* .blade// wants it :drool:
You guys know what to get me for my birthday now :banana:

It sounds pretty cool to me, I think that within the next few years, that will be a common thing, people won't need to go to the shops to buy cds or whatever, they'll just download them...

They won't even have to order them off of the net, they'll just buy them, then download them...

READ ALL OF THIS...THIS IS USEFULL FOR A MEDIUM SKILLED INTERNET USER

Now your messing it up, as most people do..
4.7 Gb (not Ghz) = 4700 Mb = 4700000 Kb(KILOBYTES) in 30 seconds = 4700000 : 30 ~ 186667Kb/s

Now let's imagine your connection is 512 kb(here's the error...KILOBITS) Download....

Your MAXIMUM download capabilitie is 512 Kilobits Per Second = 512  / 8 = 64 kilobytes per second...which makes you realised you are wrong in that calculations:)..

So to calculate Internet 2 speed you go like this..

1 kilobytes = 8 Kilobits

186667 kilobytes/s(OR ~ 18,7 Megabytes per second...imagine that speed OMG)  x 8 = 1493336Kilobits/s (Or ~ 149,3 Megabits per second)...Imagine how many times your 512 Kilobits connection would fit in 149,3 Megabits...

hey i can do that also:D

1493336 : 512 = 2916,671875

:| that means it's 2917 times more faster then MY (yes my connection is 512 Kilobits Down..)Connection...Oh well let's dream
