internet explorer help by Devinci Rider on 04-27-2005 at 06:16 PM

ok, so ive been trying to figure this out for a while now, but ive had no luck. in internet explorerwhen you are typing an adress in the address bar, it will give you options for past sites. now im trying to delete these but deleting cookies/history/temporary internet files hasnt gotten rid of them all. any ideas on how to get rid of them all? some of them are from sites i dont ever remember visiting and its really bugging me trying to figure it out.

try going into your internet options..then content tab...then click on autocomplete..you can uncheck where it says to autocomplete webaddress..plus clear out your forms and passwords...that may work

By deleting History it is supposed to clear out that list.

All of the URLs you have typed into the web address are located in this location.

code:
Start > Run > regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

You can also use Ad-aware which after running the scan, gives you an option to delete MRU lists. These include the websites typed in internet explorer, but also include recently opened files in different programs such as microsoft office or the list of items used in Start, run.

As Matty said when you clear History it should be gone. To fix this bug you may want to re-download and install internet explorer.

When you delete them make sure you go to Start > Control Panel (classic view) > and clear the history there. Some people find it only works if they close Internet Explorer.

Are you using the latest version of Internet Explorer?

As Anubis said, when you delete you delete your history and cookies that list of typed URL's will go, but make sure if you have Windows XP to click on Delete Files under tempory internet files in the internet options tab. Goodluck hope it helps

...?

Missed what? You mean it didn't remove everything or it doesn't have certain features? Because it works perfectly for removing all sorts of Internet Explorer history files.
