Why thank Inky, the only thing he did was telling what the MSN Messenger team said on the private beta newsgroups.

Just in case you are wondering, Plus! works perfectly with this update.
The feature in SPNG to hide the text-ad in convos does not work.
And patches like Mess Patch and A-Patch doesnt work :)

Some sources say that it could be available in matter of hours/days.

Here is my question.  If you have this joke build 814 will this patch work on this buld?

My Messenger Blog RSS feed just popped up with this new post by TB, but it hasn't been published on the Blog (yet?):

Because I wanted to try the quick-patch today I had to clean up my current version of MSN (I didn't get to clean up the fake 814 yet).
So I went to http://messenger.msn.com/ and just downloaded the new version.
To check if everything went fine, I hit about, and to my suprise, the version number was already 7.0.0813, while I had not yet applied the quick-patch...
It seems that either Microsoft has securely cached the patch in my system (since I had already tried applying it on 814, by accident), or it has already gone public on the site itself
The second option is, ofcourse, the most likely to be true, so we'll just stick by that one untill someone proves me wrong.

Anyway, Version 7.0.0813 seems to have gone public already, although not trough the quick-patch.
If you are, however, desperate to get the quick-patch for your collection, I suggest you look around a bit more. I'm pretty sure someone ought to have leaked it by now (hell, I got it trough a non-legitimate beta tester too )

Oh, before someone freaks out about it, stuffplug isn't fully compatible with this version yet. The File-Transfer unblocker no longer seems to work, nor does the function to Hide the advertisement banner. I'm working on it as we speak, but I've got school tomorrow, and the day after I'm going on a holiday (PARIS! DISNEY! WHOOW!). so either I'll have it done by tomorrow, or you'll have to wait till next thursday (or even later). Sorry...

I just re-downloaded the installer twice from http://messenger.msn.com and it's still version 7.0.0777, so no silent official update for the time being.

they released it to a few beta testers atm
and these testers are allowed to give it to other testers afaik :)

I can't get on the site as the bandwith is exceeded.
