Using ad-aware or Spybot will not remove the whole sponsor program, but make the proper uninstaller unable to remove the sponsor.
Follow these instruction which should get rid of the sponsor program.

1. Reinstall plus WITH the adware.
2. Go to Add/Remove Programs, messenger plus! 3 and click change/remove.
3. Follow the instuctions to remove the sponsor program.

If you fully close your internetbrowser (from systray also) whilst uninstalling, yes. Remember: what's in use can't be removed ;)
