Isn't the new book coming out this summer?  I think it is called the Half-Blood Prince or something.  I am guessing the Half-Blood Prince is Voldemort.

If memory serves me correctly, I think the author J.K. Rowling has said that neither Harry Potter nor Voldemort are the Half-Blood prince.

The book is due for release on the 16th July. I can't wait! :)

RE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by user27089 on 05-08-2005 at 06:28 PM

Hmm, that's what I was saying to my mate about the Half-Blood prince, but he wasn't listening to me...

Isn't it completely seperate from Harry Potter at all, therefore, ruining the point of the book being called "Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince"???

Ludacris IMO ...

RE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by TylerG on 05-08-2005 at 06:28 PM

Well of course Harry isn't the half blood prince because he is full-blooded:P

* RaceProUK doubts it
And those vidclips don't reveal much do they (a good thing maybe)?

no he's not. Harry's mum - Lilly, was a mudblood (i.e. two non-magical [muggle] pearents).

JKR has said that Voldermort isn't neither is Tom Riddle, or most of the other main characters.

She also said that a discovery harry made in Chamber of Secrets is the key to HBP.

This is what i believe...

In CoS, Harry pulled out Godric Gryffindor's sword out of the sorting hat in the chamber.
Why would a wizard need a sword since he can fight with his wand?

I think that it is a ceremonial thing, like when the Queen knights someone (like she did to Bill gates).

JKR said that we are going to find out something BIG about Lilly Evans.
AND Lilly and James lived in Godrics Hollow.
AND JKR keeps mentioning Lilly's and Harry's green eyes, they must be significant.

So maybe Harry is related to Godric, so they Heir of Slytherin and the Heir of Gryffindor would fight each other in a dramatic battle at the end.

In the exert given from JKR's website, it talks about an old lion, which could be Godric's animagous.
Harry is a Leo - which is a Lion
the Lion is the emblem of Gryffindor
the sword is always mentioned in the other books as passing comments.

the clips are from the Goblet of Fire film, for which the book has already come out. So it won't have any clues to the new book, and everyone knows what happens in GoF anyway.

The half blood prince is out on July 16th.

In school the other day, I went around putting up posters from harry potter, like educational decrees, Weasly's Wizarding Wheezes adverts, and Sirius Black - Wanted posters.
RE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.J on 05-09-2005 at 06:22 AM

I can't wait till the book or movie comes out!

I'm probably more excited about the book though :P

You won't see me on these forums for a while when i get that book...neither will my family

I hope the movie isnt like the prisoner of azkaban movie.

The Harry Potter movies are made less-scarier for the children :P

The book is supposed to be scary in some areas :\

I completely agree with you.
I remember the book was really good, but I walked disappointedly out of the theatre.

Hopefully, GoF is much better.
I read the book when I had a typhus fever.

Thanks for the link, I can't wait for book 6 as well! The PoA movie wasn't that bad, was it?

RE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by user27089 on 05-09-2005 at 08:38 AM

I don't see why you don't like the third movie... It was a little short, but it was a genuinely good film... I'm going to be glad when the Goblets of Fire comes out...

Is it me, or is Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) getting really good looking :|...

Something you didn't know:

My mate from Oxford is going out with Emma Watson ... And I can get her fone number... it's in his fone as something completely un-related

:-#

RE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by John Anderton on 05-09-2005 at 02:13 PM

a half-blood means that they had one wizard pearent. Not two muggle pearents, so it is quite possible, especially seeing as they created hogwarts, presumably around when wizardry was first created, so there would not have been many wizards around.
RE: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by FrozernFire on 05-10-2005 at 05:32 AM

thats maybe why Godric Griffindor didn't want a pure-blood only school, or else he would have to get out himself

Salazar slytherin was against halfbloods but godric wasnt ..... we.. godric being the HBP is my best bet ;)
