where can i download service pack 1 & 2, so that i can burn them to a cd, to install them on my friends computer who does not have internet access?

. But you only need SP2!
SP2 Network Installation also contains all previous critical updates for windows XP (from release until SP2)

You were able to order SP2 on CD from Microsoft for a while.... I've got a copy of it here.

i've got to copies of it on cd.... got them free, they were going out on magazines and my dad works for the firm that sends them out to places and instead of throwing away the discs from damaged books he brings em home... lol, quite usefulll

Tochjo was faster, however you can also download it using Automatic Updates from here: However i don't know if you can burn them so just send away for a CD, mine took about 3 weeks to arrive.

This is the 'Stand alone' version of SP2. It's just one exe that you can burn on a cd

Agreed, sp2 has all the security updates sp1 had..
