What are proxy settings and how can i change them bcus they are stopping me from goin on msn?

In Internet Explorer: click Tools, then Internet Options, click Lan Settings in the connection Tab, click the "automatically detect settings" button, then click ok twice to confirm. This will let Internet Explorer and MSN Messenger find out the best way to connect to the Internet via the current network.

proxy settings or IP addresses are how you connect to the net
when you connect you are given your own special machien number which allows other computers to see you and transmit data to you
