New feature: Link your blogs RSS feed by Reinier on 06-01-2005 at 07:52 AM

Wouldn't it be cool to link your blogs RSS feed to your profile, instead of having to create a MySpace?

With one right mouseclick, people can then see your latest blog entries. (much like the LiveFeed bookmarks in Firefox)

just a thought,

rgds,

Actually this has been suggested quite a number of times ..... the
problem is that this cant be done atm as the info for the contact card
comes from the msn server :)

Ps .... how is this Msg general talk ??

it's a bug, it's a plugin, it's support, it's a plane,

no

it's a feature request! (i just didn't see another forum)

And what if the personal message was misused, and contained the URL of the feed (or the username partly, or one of the phonefields?)

Should be in MSN/Windows Messenger, but it doesn't really matter.
Personal messages don't convert URLs into links.

RE: New feature: Link your blogs RSS feed by Reinier on 06-01-2005 at 08:27 AM

and that is where MSGPlus would kick in: it would take the URL and make a nice overview/popup whatever out of the RSS feed.

(actually, people do use the personal message to display URL's. So i guess a second nice new feature would be to regocnize (oi) these URL's in personal messages and make them clickable.)

It could easily be exploited to include potentially dangerous or inappropriate links, though.

That of course heavily depends on the people you hang around with :D, but I see your point.

I the link is just clickable, then it is just a link like any other link on the internet, so it's up to you wether you click it or not. If you use Firefox as your browser, securitywise there is not too much to worry about.

If MSGPlus would download the file, to see if it is a real .rss feed, it is defiinitly up to MSGPlus to prevent itself from malicious data being sent.

That should be codable, i reckon. Especially for patchou, our hero :-))
